The city is a little inferior to Munich in size, nevertheless it really amazes!
First of all, the abundance of Gothic architecture surprises, and then the view is attracted by the ancient, but still strong fortress wall surrounding the Romanesque castle on the mountain. Townspeople carefully store crooked cobbled streets, take care of old houses with sloping tiled roofs, are proud of the many Lutheran churches, which for Catholic Bavaria is by no means the norm. None of all German cities, except for Nuremberg, was able to maintain such an original appearance.
Over the centuries, Nuremberg enjoyed the reputation of the world's capital of toys. In Europe there is the capital of Christmas - this is Nuremberg.
Today's Nuremberg is an open-air museum and a modern, youth-filled city with 500,000 inhabitants. He attracts a special atmosphere of tranquillity and cosiness, inviting to walks. The creative atmosphere is distinctly felt in the old quarters, where people still live in half-timbered houses, in the old taverns excellent beer is served and, along with the monuments, there are many exquisite but affordable shops. In the shadows of old churches, musicians gather, not only from Germany, but from all over the world, in order to please the connoisseurs of unpretentious street art on warm summer evenings.
